What is OCD?
Obsessions

Constantly having unwanted thoughts disrupt your peace is upsetting and derailing to your daily functioning. You might find yourself consumed with a need for perfection, coping with obsessive behaviors worrying about catching illnesses, or ruminating about unpleasant, fearsome things. The distressing nature of these preoccupations might make you feel compelled to behave in certain ways, AKA, compulsions.
Compulsions

The behaviors that you engage in are likely viewed as anecdotes to your distressing, intrusive thoughts. While they might provide some temporary relief, these actions soak up a lot of your time, leaving little space for other, more enjoyable activities and interactions. You probably have no desire to act in these ways, but you do so because if you do not, you will feel even more troubled and preoccupied.
